Piercing Bleg Followup.

Salt water helped dramatically. Thanks to everyone who suggested it! Check out my ear being not-gross!

(The tacky mystery-metal Piercing Pagoda earring is in an old piercing; the one that was giving me trouble is the one with the stud. So don't go "there's your problem.")

  1. Awesome. :) Yeah, the salt water is definitely the way to go.

  2. Wait, the circular barbell was, or was not the cause of your issue?

I'd expect the bejeweled stud to be the one with the problem. short little thing like that can't drain properly.

  3. Perlhaqr - Yeah, the stud was the problem, although it's not that short, I can slide it back and forth a bit freely.

  4. Yeah... I generally prefer really oversized jewelry for new piercings. (not that I've had one in 5 years, yeesh.) Lots of movement available means that if it swells, it won't bunch up, and there's plenty of space for drainage. Plus, once you've soaked the crusties off in the shower, you can rotate enough of the bar through that you can wash the bit that's sitting inside your body, also.

  5. Sorry, I go into professor mode at the drop of a hat these days.

"These have been my experiences shoving foreign objects through various portions of my anatomy. Make of them what you will."

  6. Perlhaqr - In deference to your professorly judgement, I now have a long barbell in the trouble zone. (Which has become mostly untroubled anyway so it's almost a moot point, but it still has some healing left to do.)
